James + April are friends of mine as well as fellow wedding photographers. I was so excited & honored when they asked me to be a part of their wedding day!
They decided on having their ceremony at Dupont State Forest, in a tiny, little clearing in the woods, just large enough for a small amount of people. They made the ceremony optional for their guests but still a good amount of friends and family wanted to witness the beautiful moment. So they lined the path into the woods for April and then all gathered around close to watch as the couple laughed and cried through their adorable vows. It was truly so, so sweet, I definitely shed a few tears myself.
The reception at Brevard Lumberyard was full of details, beautiful greenery and lots of tasty soul food made by one of April’s best friends, followed by one of my favorite cake cuttings that got a little out of hand. Ha! Most of the night you could find James and April living up the moment on the dance floor, laughing and having the best of times with friends and family. But most of all, you could see their intense love for one another, and how excited they were to finally be married!
She was personable, prompt, professional, and really really fun. The photos speak for themselves, but we are thrilled with the end result. On a big day with a lot going on, she made the whole experience of the shoot seem really easy and effortless. Her experience is quite obvious, and knowing when to give us space or step in for photos was something she navigated very well. Hope to get the chance to work with her again one day!
